We’re updating the firmware on IP phones certified for Microsoft Teams.
- We’ll begin rolling this out to Teams phone customers in mid-April 2020.
- The roll-out will be complete by early May.
How does this affect me?
This includes an updated version of the Teams application, Company Portal application, and Device Management agent.
The new version is expected to support:
- Bug fixes to the Teams application and the Company Portal application
- Device management updates to support device categorization in Teams Admin Center
- New Settings support on Teams phones for
- Custom ringtones
- Managing delegates
- Redesigned calls app user interface with favorites (speed dial)
- Support auto-dial for extension dialing
Once the firmware has been updated on the phones, users will see an updated interface with support for these features.
What do I need to do to prepare for this change?
Because this update contains much-asked about features including favorites and settings support, we recommend that tenant administrators deploy this update.
